Quotica Privacy Policy

Your books

The ebooks and documents you import are stored on your device, in Quotica’s own app container. If you choose to keep a book in iCloud, it is stored in your own iCloud Drive together with its reading progress, bookmarks and highlights, so your other devices can open it. iCloud is run by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy; the developer cannot see it.

Translation

Translations use Apple’s Translation framework, which runs on your device. The first time you translate into a language, iOS may download that language from Apple; this is handled by Apple and contains none of your books.

Read-aloud voices

Read-aloud uses the system voices installed on your device, or the Supertonic voice that runs on your device. If you choose the Supertonic voice, Quotica downloads its model files once, from Apple’s App Store servers, or from Hugging Face if those can’t be reached. No text or audio leaves your device.

Dictionary lookups

When you look up a word, Quotica may fetch its definition from Wiktionary or Wikipedia. Only the word you look up is sent, to the Wikimedia Foundation, which handles it under its own privacy policy. Nothing else from your books is sent.

Sending books over Wi-Fi

When you turn on Wi-Fi transfer or share a book with someone nearby, Quotica runs a small web server on your device that only works on your local network, and only while you keep it open. Files go directly between the devices.

Purchases

Quotica Unlimited is a one-time In-App Purchase made through your Apple Account. Apple handles the payment; the developer receives no payment details or personal information, only Apple’s confirmation that the purchase was made.

Notes and settings

Your notes, highlights, reading position and settings are stored on your device, and in your iCloud only for books you keep there.

No accounts, ads or tracking

Quotica has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The developer does not collect, receive or share any personal data. When you share a book or a note with the system share sheet, you choose where it goes.

Children

Quotica does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
